Energy Entertainments will be holding Workshops in Poi, Staff and Kung Fu throughout the 2014 Swell Sculpture Festival.

Workshops will be held on;

Saturday 13th of September @ 1pm – Poi, staff and kung fu workshop held in Wallace Nicole Park, to the right of The Rocks Resort, Currumbin.

Sunday 14th of September @ 1pm–  Poi, staff and kung fu workshop held in Wallace Nicole Park, to the right of The Rocks Resort, Currumbin.

Sunday 21st of September @1pm – Poi, staff and kung fu workshop held in Wallace Nicole Park, to the right of The Rocks Resort, Currumbin.

Workshop description; 

The 1-hour workshop will consist of learning the basics in Staff, Poi and Kung fu techniques. The class will be fun and energetic, starting with a 10minute warm up and an explanation of the equipment used. Focusing on balance, space awareness, reaction speeds, relaxation in movement and hand to eye coordination while playing games and having fun.

All equipment will be supplied.

Students will need to bring: Water for rehydration, a hat for sun protection, a big smile and enthusiasm to learn!

Who can attend; 5 – 99 years olds welcome! 

Under 5’s will be able to play with Lycra sock poi filled with rice balloons for safety to the side of the workshop.

Fire workshop description;

Fire Workshop, Thursday the 18th of September, 7pm will be held on the beach in Currumbin in front of Elephant Rock Café (location wind dependant) Neal from Energy Entertainments will be holding a 1 hour fire workshop.

The workshop will start with a fire safety briefing how to light, store and use fire equipment safely. Once the fire safety briefing is finished there will be an opportunity to light the equipment (also supplied but feel free to bring your own) and practice techniques and movements with fire.

Fuel for lighting the equipment will be supplied and Neal will be happy to answer any questions you may have

Only children over 10 years old may take part. Children between 10 and 16 years old must have parent approval and supervision. Adults just bring your awareness!

Fire must always be treated with respect! Used with great care and understanding it can also be an amazing experience!
