First up “What’s the difference between a fire-breather and a fire twirler?”
A fire breather breathes fire out of his mouth and a fire twirler manipulates different fire equipment for entertainment. But what’s the difference when hiring entertainment for your event?
A fire breather can only breathe fire for so long before it becomes dangerous and the fuel (the cleanest possible) takes over and the performer starts to feel faint and intoxicated by the fuel. A fire breather can only breathe fire for a maximum of 5 minutes over a period of about 30 minutes. This is by cleaning their mouth out each time and using the correct fuels.
There is always a chance of chemical pneumonia. This is when fuel held in the mouth is breathed inwards and fuel enters the lungs. Not exactly what you want to happen during your event! Luckily our fire breathers are professional and take every precaution available.
So how long can a fire twirler dance for?

This really depends on how excessively the performer is dancing. It really depends on what you hire. Do you want your performer to look amazing and only hold fire or twirl slowly? Or have a high-impact show with fast twirling that’s exciting to watch?
We hire our roving performers out for 3 x 30-minute sets over 3 hours. This can be customised to suit but you can see the difference between a fire-breather and a fire twirler.
These days we have equipment that can create a similar effect as fire breathing without the danger. But if you want the real thing, you’ll have to pay for it!
